Tillman gets OD nod

A full story is coming shortly on Orioles.com, but Chris Tillman has been named Baltimore’s Opening Day starter.

Tillman, who has been the team’s Opening Day starter the past two seasons, will face the Twins on April 4 in Baltimore.

With the shambles that the Oriole rotation is in, does it matter who starts opening day? Surely Tillman has done nothing to earn it, although no one has stepped up anyway. Jimenez was horrendous sunday nite, Gonzalez is terrible, Gallardo looks bad, low velocity. The management decision not to sign Chen will be costly, as he was the only reliable starter. Gausman going on the disabled list is a bad omen, tho he has yet to prove he is a major league starter. The Orioles may have to score six runs a game.
