Gallardo unveiled

I’ll have a full story up on Yovani Gallardo’s press conference up shortly on Orioles.com, but in the meantime here are some highlights…

On joining the Orioles…

“It’s a great group from what I learned today. They did a great job. They made me feel comfortable and welcome here in the clubhouse. I’m excited. I’m excited to be part of this club and looking forward to winning a lot of ballgames with you guys. I was anxious to get started right away and I’m happy to be here.”

On last week’s drama regarding his physical…

“It was a little bit different, to be honest, but I’m just glad we were able to get something done. It’s part of the process, to be honest. I think it’s part of the situation, becoming a free agent, but everything for me, I’m passed that. I’m looking forward to being on this club and pitching for this team and going out every fifth day or whenever my name is called and doing everything I can to get this team a victory.”

On what he brings to the staff…

“I’ve had the experience, both during the season and in the playoffs. And I think it’s a little bit of leadership. I think there’s a lot of talent on this club with the starting pitchers. I think we all need to feed off one another and I think whenever my name is called, I’ve had a good opportunity to start… I’ve had 30 or more starts and I think that’s very important. Just lead the guys in the proper workouts and that type of thing to be able to do that.”

On when he thought the Orioles would be a good fit…

“Obviously, knowing the kind of players we have on this club. It’s great defense. They want to be a part of it. I’ve seen these guys play from the other side of the field and they’re aggressive. They want to make that diving play. They want to field that ground ball in the hole and make that good play. It’s just one of those things for me, my goal is to get that ground ball and let the guys behind me do the rest of the work. I’ve seen it before just from the few games I’ve seen on the other side while facing the Orioles.”

On being out on the field for workouts…

“It was great today, just like I said, I was anxious to get out there and I prepared myself. I kept doing my throwing program as [I would during] any other offseason. So obviously, the past couple of days have been a little different, but I feel comfortable. I’ve done enough throwing to where I’m prepared for coming into camp. I did struggle with a couple PFPs but you’re got to work on them. Maybe I’ll get some of the infielders to [help me] work on them.”

Great for Gallardo but to tell you the truth I am not too sorry the Fawler deal did not go through. With Trombo, Jones, Kim, Urrutia, Reimold and maybe Paredes and Alvarez the outfield/ DH looks crowded with talent.
Look within the organization and save some money.

So wanting ahead to this movie, VitalyzdTV, RomanAtwood and Dennis Roady have finished some hilarious pranks and now it is good to see they’ve their very own film and with the likes of
the dudesons, Steve- and different common YouTube Pranksters and personalities, it
is good to see and i’ve no doubt this will probably be entertaining!!

Here we go again. Down 7-1 (or is it worse by now ) to the Skankees. What’should the new definition of insanity? Trying the same failed thing hoping for a different outcome. Something like that, you’Lloyd know what I mean when I say this. Retroactive to my post on August 19 when I said get Jimenez, Gallardo & our GM a bus ticket to Bowie, Ubaldo has proven, again tonight, that he is not a major league pitcher. He has hurt our team’s chances. Bring up a minor leaguer and let him seek success. Look how Bundy & Gausman are progressing. Come on Birds !

My mistake. Gallardo got hammered tonight, not Ubaldo. But they’re one and the same, even though Ubaldo did O.K last night. Earlier in tonight’s game the Skankees had scored 6 two out runs. Go O’s. Go Ravens.
