Orioles vs. Athletics, lineups and pregame notes

*The Orioles have recalled Steve Clevenger from Triple-A Norfolk and designated David Lough for assignment. The Os needed Clevenger on the roster as Matt Wieters is dealing with a hamstring injury that has him sidelined. Wieters said today he doesn’t think it’s a disabled list situation.

Lough is the fifth outfielder that has been DFA’ed by the O’s this season. He has no prior outright assignment so, if he clears waivers, he could be sent to Triple-A Norfolk and be a September call-up.

Baltimore will have to make another roster move on Saturday as Henry Urrutia is here taking batting practice and will be added to the roster before the middle game of this series.

*Chris Tillman is “a little black and blue” after taking a liner off his pitching arm on Wednesday. It avoided his elbow area and, assuming he comes through Saturday’s work day OK, will make his next start.

*Chaz Roe (right shoulder tendinitis) received a Cortisone injection earlier in the week and is reportedly feeling better.

*Steve Pearce took batting practice off the coaches in Sarasota, Fla. and by next week the O’s should have a better idea of where he could go rehab to get some at-bats.

*Dylan Bundy has an appointment with Dr. James Andrews at the end of the month to see if he’s good to start back up throwing.

*Chris Parmelee is done for the year after suffering a broken arm. He was hit by a pitch in Wednesday’s Triple-A Norfolk game off Rays’ pitcher Matt Moore.

*Hunter Harvey continues to progress on his throwing program and the hope is he participates in instructional league and/or the Arizona Fall League.
