Tillman won’t start Friday

OAKLAND—Chris Tillman will not start until at least Sunday for the Orioles, as the team continues to be cautious in moving the right-hander along from a left ankle injury.

Tillman threw a bullpen session on Wednesday in Oakland and will take another work day before he starts. With Thursday’s off day, the Orioles rotation will remain on turn in Anaheim this weekend —sending Kevin Gausman and Ubaldo Jimenez to the mound— and the earliest they would need a fifth start is Tuesday.

Tillman could start earlier than that, as Sunday’s starter is TBD and could also be Miguel Gonzalez. Getting Tillman right is important for the Orioles as the righty has had a fantastic second half, pitching to a 0.38 ERA in three second-half starts.

Just how many hits/runs do you think ok? Oh, remind buck we are in a pennant and can’t score 6-7 runs a game. I’d love to see th GM come and pull you out, then maybe my O’s have a chance.
