Os option Wilson, add McFarland
The Orioles have recalled lefty reliever T.J. McFarland from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned RHP Tyler Wilson to Triple-A to clear a roster spot.
Wilson, who picked up his second career win last night, gave the O’s an excellent spot start in going 7 2/3 innings in Monday’s win over the A’s. The righty saved the bullpen and gave the Orioles a lift, pitching in place of Chris Tillman. But sending Wilson back to Norfolk was inevitable as the O’s were short in the ‘pen.
McFarland has gone 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA, allowing four earned runs over 13 1/3 innings pitched, in 12 games with the Orioles this season. The 26-year-old went 2-3 with a 2.91 ERA and a save in 16 games (nine starts) with Norfolk this season.
