Orioles vs. White Sox with no fans

Greetings from a quiet Camden Yards, where the Orioles and White Sox will play a 2 p.m. game without any fans in attendance. Much of today’s pregame talk centered on the riots in the Baltimore area and the Orioles upcoming series that has now been moved to Tampa Bay. But there were also a few injury updates.

Shortstop J.J. Hardy will test his left shoulder today and is planning on going with the team to Tampa Bay to continue his rehab. If he feels OK, he could go out and play in games after that. Hardy had a Cortisone injection in the area on Saturday and said today he was feeling much better.  Catcher Matt Wieters (Tommy John surgery) will play in an extended spring game on Thursday and Ryan Flaherty (groin strain) –who is still with the team– took 75 swings today and should be ready to come off the disabled list when ready.

Manager Buck Showalter said Jonathan Schoop had fluid drained from his right knee to help get the last bit of swelling out and Wesley Wright (trapezius strain) will be able to resume throwing early next week.
