Orioles @ Red Sox lineups

Greetings from Fenway Park, where the Orioles will try to sweep the Red Sox and whittle their magic number, which enters the day at nine.

Baltimore will head home tonight for a long 10-game homestand and it’s very possible they clinch the American League East at Camden Yards. That would be the first division celebration in Baltimore since Camden Yards opened in 1992. The O’s have actually only had one celebration at home, which was when they won the AL Division Series against Seattle in 1997.

If you recall in 2012, the Orioles were on a plane when they found out they had made the postseason for the first time since 1997, which officially happened when the Angels lost the second game of a doubleheader to Texas. That plane, which was headed to St. Petersburg, also made an emergency landing in Jacksonville because of smoke.

Go O’s! Bring on the Yankees! We have eight games left with them! We need to bury them. I wish we could cinch the division on this home stand while playing the Yanks in Camden Yards. That would be so sweet! We need the Yankees and Blue Jays to lose tonight while the O’s win and then sweep the Yankees at home while the Blue Jays lose to the Rays. A tall order but possible. Go O’s!
