Orioles @ Yankees Game 3

Greetings from Yankee Stadium where the Os have the rubber match of the series against the Yankees. New York has Old Timers Day today, so there’s a lot going on.

In case you missed it last night, Dylan Bundy had five scoreless innings for Aberdeen in his second start this season. Bundy, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, didn’t give up a hit until the fourth inning and he will have one more start with Aberdeen before the organization re-evaluates things. Given how well he’s progressed so far, especially with his command, he could move up to another affiliate.

Bud Norris remains cautiously optimistic he will start on Friday and got some more treatment today on his right groin. Norris has had issues before on his left side, but never his right although the Os got some good news this morning in that there wasn’t a whole lot of discoloration in the area that usually means it’s a long-term injury. Manager Buck Showalter relayed that update and made sure to tell reporters that he didn’t look at Norris’ groin, the trainers did.

Speaking of Showalter, he got a real nice round of applause today when he was announced at Old Timers’ Day. Showalter ran out onto the field and tipped his Oriole cap before running back into the O’s dugout.
