Orioles @ Astros Game 4

Greetings from Minute Maid Park, where the Orioles will play the fourth and final game of the series against the Astros aiming for a split. Baltimore snapped a four-game losing streak with yesterday’s win.

*The team is shuffling the rotation following Monday’s off day, with Ubaldo Jimenez pitching on Tuesday followed by Bud Norris and Miguel Gonzalez. The move gives Norris two extra days rest. Chris Tillman, who pitched yesterday, will also get two extra days as the team wanted to get him an extra work day in hopes that he can build off his last outing. Tillman will start Saturday, after Wei-Yin Chen.

*No news yet on if Johan Santana is staying in the organization although that should be coming soon as the team has until midnight Monday. Santana has an opt-out in his contract, although the O’s are optimistic about their chances to keep him. He could be an option for the big-league rotation by June 18 if he stays.

*Tommy Hunter has progressed really well in his return from a groin strain and he will meet the team in Texas on Monday. Hunter will throw a bullpen session for pitching coach Dave Wallace and bullpen coach Dom Chiti and he could be set out on rehab after that. Manager Buck Showalter said Hunter could be ready as early as the 9th, and he misspoke when he said he’d be ready by the first day eligible, which is the 5th.

*Matt Wieters threw again today and reportedly felt better than he did on Friday. Wieters threw again from 75 feet, between 20-30 throws, and he will take Monday off and do the same thing on Tuesday. There’s no timetable on his return, although the club will have to decide around July 1 if Wieters is going to continue down this road or opt for season-ending surgery.

*Nick Markakis almost didn’t play yesterday with neck stiffness and he’s at designated hitter today. Markakis said it bothers him a lot more throwing than hitting and he’ll get the benefit of a half-day off today before Monday’s off day.

*Minor league infield coordinator Dave Anderson will meet the Orioles in Arlington and offer his help during the series. Anderson won’t formally join the coaching staff but he should be a wealth of info as he used to be a coach with the Rangers organization.

Lough and Davis are automatic outs! Pearce should be in there! His defense is great wherever you play him and his hitting isMUCH better than Davis( of 2014) and Lough. We need people on base not sure strike-outs!

Didn’t you used to yell the same thing about Markakis?
