Orioles @ Brewers, Clevenger optioned

Greetings from Miller Park, where the Orioles have optioned Steve Clevenger to clear a roster spot for Chris Davis. The move is a surprise and shows the organization prefers Caleb Joseph’s defense, with manager Buck Showalter mentioning that he also wants Clevenger to catch every day and not worry about where he’s hitting in the lineup.

Nick Hundley got his second start behind the plate on Wednesday.

The Orioles are well represented on the first All-Star ballot, with seven players among the American League results that were released on Tuesday afternoon.

Catcher Matt Wieters, who has been on the disabled list, leads all AL catchers, while red-hot Nelson Cruz is trailing Boston’s David Ortiz in the designated hitter category. Chris Davis and Manny Machado are fourth, at first and third base, with shortstop J.J. Hardy in third. Adam Jones leads the team’s All-Star votes and is in seventh place, with Nick Markakis in 10th.

O’s still need men on base!! So far CJ is not hitting. Cleavinger had a much better chance of being on base as well as driving in runs! Don’t believe CJ has driven in more than 1 run ( and that by a walk ) Guess that is why Buck is paid big $
