Orioles vs. Tigers Game 2 (updated)

Greetings from Camden Yards, where the Orioles will take on the Tigers for Game 2 of a three-game set. Kevin Gausman is here and will start tomorrow afternoon’s game, pushing lefty Wei-Yin Chen back a game to Kansas City on Thursday.

Miguel Gonzalez, who would have started Thursday, will be available in the bullpen the next few nights in what he’s hoping is a temporary move. Gonzalez, who said he’s happy as long as the team is winning, would clearly prefer to start and he could be used Friday or Saturday to push back some of the O’s current rotation.

Chris Tillman has been dealing with what manager Buck Showalter called “groin tenderness” that they think will resolve itself but they want to wait and see how his work day goes.

Chen found out about the news today while Gausman was informed last night and drove over from Norfolk.

Michael Almanzar will have his left knee examined by Dr. David Altchek knee on Thursday as he continues to be nagged by the injury.

Dylan Bundy threw today, live batting practice on Tuesday, which was kind of a combo of simulated game and BP. He threw 20 pitches, using all of his pitches and his fastball hit 93 mph.

Nolan Reimold has been doing all baseball activities and his 60-day DL stay ends on May 29.

Johan Santana will throw again on the 16th, with Orioles prospect Eduardo Rodriguez (knee sprain) throwing a four inning game on Wednesday.
