Orioles @ Blue Jays Game 2 (updated)

Greetings from Toronto, where the Orioles will try to even the series after last night’s loss. Both Matt Wieters and J.J. Hardy have returned to the lineup after minor injuries and starter Chris Tillman is trying to become the second starter in seven games to go six or more innings.

*Manny Machado played seven innings today at third base in an extended spring game and went 3-for-4 with three singles. Machado will travel back to the Baltimore area on Thursday before playing nine innings at third base for Class-A Frederick on Friday. Machado is expected to stay with Frederick through the weekend and go to either Double-A or Triple-A after that.

*Dylan Bundy threw eight curveballs today, the first time he’s thrown that pitch since undergoing Tommy John surgery. It’s an encouraging step for the righty, who could be an option for the Orioles in June.

*For those asking about Johan Santana, another potential option for the Orioles around that time, the lefty has been throwing around 84 mph as he continues to work his way back from a second shoulder surgery.

*Hardy said his hamstring has felt much better over the past two days and he’s back in the lineup although still not 100 percent and hopeful he won’t have to push it on the base paths. Wieters is also back in after getting treatment yesterday and said he didn’t need to test anything today, he’s just going off feel.
