Paul Blair’s funeral information

Fans wishing to pay their respects to Paul Blair can do so on Friday, January 3, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Ruck’s Funeral Home, 1050 York Road in Towson where Blair’s family will be greeting family and friends.
Memorial Contributions may be sent in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Blair died at the age of 69 on Thursday and he played 17 years in the Majors, 13 with the Orioles. The outfielder is a member of the Orioles Hall of Fame and had lived in the Baltimore area since his playing days. Blair was active in numerous community and charitable events, many on behalf of the Orioles and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.

I remember Paul Blair as an excellent, smooth, effortlessly looking outfielder. I never knew him personally but watched him play many, many times when with Baltimore and his brief stay with the Yankees. He always seemed to have a smile on his face and also seemed to be well liked by teammates.
Prayers to his family and friends.

As a young kid I spent my entire summers at Dunn Field in Elmira NY where many future Orioles made their minor league stop. Paul was one of those who came through Elmira and displayed his talents day in and day out. Always fun to watch especially his defensive skills which was second to none. A great player and an even greater person., RIP Paul Blair
