Twins vs. Orioles- home opener

*Brian Roberts had an MRI this morning and the team is still waiting for results to find out what they are dealing with in terms of Roberts’ right hamstring injury. Infielder Yamaico Navarro is here in Baltimore in the event that there is a roster move. Stay  tuned.

Alexi Casilla and Ryan Flaherty are the primary backups with Flaherty getting the start this afternoon against Twins righty Liam Hendriks.

*Only three players in Major League history have homered in four straight games to start the season: San Francisco’s Willie Mays in 1971, St. Louis’ Mark McGwire in 1998 and Texas’ Nelson Cruz in 2011.  Orioles first baseman Chris Davis has a chance to join that elite group today.

*The Orioles will open the park at noon to give fans plenty of time to arrive and enjoy the events leading up to the club’s 2013 debut at home. Fans will receive a schedule/car magnet at the gate, see roving musical groups at Eutaw Street and the main concourses and watch “The BUCKle Up Birds: An Underdog Story” on the center field video board beginning around 1:10 p.m.

Pregame ceremonies will start at 2:30 p.m., hosted by MASN’s Jim Hunter. Orioles players and coaches will be introduced before the game, with the players running through the center field gate on an orange carpet and lining up on the field. One fan will be chosen as the club’s “10th man” for the 20th straight season, and he or she will be introduced as part of the Orioles’ starting lineup.
