Spring Training Day 23 news & notes

*Nolan Reimold did some light toss this afternoon for the first time since leaving Friday’s game with right shoulder soreness and said the area felt a lot better. Reimold is serving at designated hitter again today and is expected to return to the field for the team’s next home game on Sunday. Asked if Reimold has to be able to play the field to be on the Opening Day roster, manager Buck Showalter said yes, so Reimold’s progress this spring will be watched closely. He is also coming off of season-ending neck surgery.

*Manny Machado will leave this afternoon’s game early, around 2:45 p.m. ET to get a root canal done. Machado is expected to be in camp tomorrow, but probably won’t travel to Bradenton with Showalter wanting him to play in Saturday’s game at the Red Sox.

*Also scheduled to throw for the Orioles today: Mike Wright, Mark Hendrickson, Adam Russell and Daniel McCutchen.

*Dylan Bundy will get the start on Saturday, with Kevin Gausman to follow. Chris Tillman will probably start Sunday with Miguel Gonzalez going after that.

*The Orioles will make cuts today, between 4-6, after the game.

*Tsuyoshi Wada will throw on Friday and Saturday as he progresses forward from Tommy John surgery. Showalter said there are no plans right now for Wada to get into a Major League spring game before camp ends.
