Orioles sign Jurrjens
The Orioles officially signed pitcher Jair Jurrjens Friday night to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training, a deal that was struck after three weeks of the agreement being in limbo.
Jurrjens’ contract was held up due to medical issues regarding his right knee and the Orioles ultimately were able to get him to agree to a far less risky Minor League deal than what was drawn up originally on Jan. 25. While the figures on Jurrjens deal weren’t immediately available, it figures to be much lower than the original reported terms of a one-year, $1.5 million deal — that would escalate to $4 million with incentives.

As they proved last year, you can never have enough pitching. If Jair can get even close to a couple of years ago he can be one of the steals of the off season. If not, the Os apparently did not risk too much.
