Orioles vs. Yankees lineups and pregame notes
*Chris Tillman has been cleared to do long toss and the 24-year-old righty, who has been dealing with inflammation in his elbow, said he also played some catch yesterday after seeing team orthopedist Dr. John Wilckens. Tillman is on some anti-inflammatory medication and the team will monitor his progress he next few days before penciling him in for a start.
*Speaking of elbows, Jason Hammel’s right elbow is fine after being struck with Robinson Cano’s liner in the fourth inning of last night’s game.
*Troy Patton (right ankle sprain) did half his work on a flat mound half and on a half mound today in Saraosta, Fla. and he will proceed to the full mound on Monday.
*Jim Thome has been taking dry swings, also in Sarasota, and manager Buck Showalter said he remains a possibility for the team this season.
*Jason Berken has been claimed by the Cubs. A right-handed pitcher, Berken was designated for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot for lefty Zach Phillips.
