Orioles @ Yankees lineups and pregame notes

A few pregame notes as the Orioles go for their first three-game sweep in the Bronx since June 6-8, 1986. According to Elias, if they sweep today it would mark the first time Baltimore has swept a series in Boston and New York in the same season since 1980. The Orioles won the series with last night’s 11-5 win.

*Nolan Reimold is going to Jacksonvile, Fla. to be with his family and continue his rehab. Reimold, who had neck surgery, is progressing well and the team is optimistic he will be a player for them next spring. Reimold is at a point in his rehab that he can pretty much do it wherever.

*Jason Hammel is nearing baseball activities and the team is still targeting an early September return. Hammel, who underwent right knee surgery, is already asking for extra rooms for the team’s road trips in September, which is pretty encouraging to hear. Manager Buck Showalter said the team will have a cleared timetable once Hammel starts throwing and pushing off that leg.

*Catcher Matt Wieters is getting a rare day game start following a night game, with Showalter pointing out that the team has an off day Thursday and there’s only 58 games remaining. Wieters did miss two games over the weekend with a sore right bicep.
