Orioles sign Cuban outfielder Urrutia
The Orioles have have signed Cuban outfielder Henry Urrutia to a Minor League contract, a team source confirmed Wednesday evening.
The 25-year-old Urrutia is a a 6-foot-3, 180-pound switch-hitter, and is a corner outfielder with a line-drive swing. His swing is better from the left side, according to Baseball America, which first reported the signing. Urrutia’s contract includes a $778,500 bonus and he could start at the team’s Double-A affiliate in Bowie.
