Orioles @ Yankees lineups and pregame notes

*Zach Britton threw a bullpen session today, his third, and he will pitch a three-inning simulated game on Saturday down in extended spring training. Britton is slated to throw games in extended on May 10 (45 pitches), 15 (60 pitches) and 21 (75 pitches). According to that schedule, he could be eligible to go on rehab assignment on the 26th, but that can always be adjusted depending on how he feels. It’s hard to estimate, but an early June return seems to be the most logical return date for him at this point.

*The Orioles will flip Jason Hammel and Tommy Hunter’s starts for this weekend, with Hammel going Saturday and Hunter on Sunday. Hunter had been dealing with an ingrown toenail that was removed and manager Buck Showalter said he decided it was best to give Hunter an extra day. Wei-Yin Chen will go on Friday for the series opener against the Red Sox.

*Hitting coach Jim Presley returned to the team after missing last night’s game, passing his second kidney stone in two weeks.

*In case you missed it, Tsuyoshi Wada has decided to undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow. The procedure will be down by Dr. Lewis Yocum in Los Angeles, Calif. on May 11.
