Os reportedly add Galarraga
In a continuing effort to add to their starting pitching depth, the Orioles have reportedly agreed to a Minor League contract with right-hander Armando Galarraga.
The news was reported from multiple media outlets in Venezuela on Tuesday –where Galarraga makes his offseason home — and featured in the transactions section of CBSSports.com.
According to the reports, the 30-year-old Galarraga will be at Major League Spring Training. He is coming off a 3-4 season in which he posted a 5.91 ERA in eight starts for the Arizonan Diamondbacks. Galarraga is best known for pitching a near-perfect game while a member of the Detroit Tigers, only to have a blown ninth-inning call ruin his chances.
