Scott activated, Angle optioned
Luke Scott was back in the Orioles starting lineup Friday, batting sixth as designated hitter. To make room for Scott, who was eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, but made another rehab start in Double-A Bowie Thursday night, the Orioles have optioned outfielder Matt Angle.
The last time Scott played in an Orioles uniform was July 3, since then he has been recovering from a torn labrum in his right shoulder, which has been bothering him all season. In three rehab starts with Bowie on July 17, 18 and 21, Scott a combined .500 (5-for-10) with three home runs, seven RBI, five runs, two walks and two strikeouts.
