Os/Tigers OD lineups and pregame tidbits

*Jeremy Guthrie was hospitalized today and has been dealing with a viral infection. He is still tentatively scheduled to pitch on Wednesday, but if not the team will go with Brad Bergesen. Should know more tomorrow.

*Luke Scott still plans on running down the orange carpet today, although he quipped it might be more of a slow jog. He’s been sidelined with right groin tightness but could be used as a pinch-hitter today if necessary. Scott said he’s targeting Wednesday for his return.

*Justin Duchscherer played some catch yesterday and will have an ablation on his lower back in the next day or two.

*Jake Arrieta will make today’s home opener start. Here’s a preview I wrote on him earlier in the season.

*Manager Buck Showalter will throw the first pitch to Earl Weaver today and he quipped that he hoped he can catch it. It should be a special moment at Camden Yards.
