Orioles/Rays lineups and pregame tidbits

*Zach Britton is here and he’s very excited to be here. Britton got to the field early and went up to where he sat in the stands as a fan.

“It was the game before Wade Boggs got his 3,000th hit. I went up to where I was sitting to just kind of remember that moment,” said Britton. “It’s great to be here.”

Britton estimated he is leaving about 30 tickets to Sunday’s game –his Major League debut — and said most of his family is flying in on Saturday.

*Brian Matusz will remain with the team this weekend and travel back to Baltimore on Sunday night. he’s expected to see team orthopedist Dr. Wilkins on Monday and will also go to Philly to see the wart specialist that removed a wart on his left middle finger earlier in spring. The team should have a better idea on Matusz’s timetable moving forward on Wednesday.

*Alfredo Simon arrived in Florida this afternoon and will work out at the team’s complex on Sunday afternoon.

It’s important to note that the team is still sorting through this mess with Simon and his timetable is more of a moving target.
Simon still needs to participate in a spring training of sorts, and he will be stretched out as a starter in Triple-A, which will take even longer.
