A few injury updates

*Brian Roberts did not work out today in Sarasota and is dealing with a back spasm that first bothered him several days ago. Manager Buck Showalter said Roberts is on the schedule to play tomorrow afternoon’s game,but obviously the team will see how he feels first. Roberts had apparently been bothered by this a few days ago,but it went away and he played in Monday night’s game,even diving headfirst into the bag to beat out a bunt.

*Derrek Lee will see a specialist today to look at his wrist and see whether he’s dealing with tendinitis or not. Lee hit off a tee and did soft toss back in Sarasota and there should be more info on him after his appointment.

*Cesar Izturis is a little “puffy and sore” after rolling his ankle diving back to the bag yesterday afternoon. Showalter said he will take a few days off to let it calm down.

*And finally, Koji Uehara (who had a Cortisone injection in his right elbow on Friday) hopes to start throwing this Thursday.
