Simon granted bail
The judge in Alfredo Simon’s case announced today in the Dominican Republic that Simon can be released after paying his bail amount. I’m working to get all the details, but I was told the bail amount is around 2 million pesos, which equates to a figure around $60,000.
Simon has been in custody since early January as the primary suspect in the New Year’s Eve shooting death of Michel Esteban Castillo Almonte. I should have more details later on, but it’s important to note that being granted bail doesn’t mean the charges are dropped.Simon will also have to stay in the country while on bail.
