Tillman and Britton

Chris Tillman got the start this afternoon and went two innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and a walk and a strikeout. Tillman threw 42 pitches (25 strikes) in his Grapefruit League debut.

Top pitching prospect Zach Britton, pitching in his first career Major League Spring Training game, looked a little jittery at first, allowing a leadoff single to Placido Polanco and prompting several mound meetings from catcher Jake Fox. He settled down though, and got a comebacker to the mound and struck out Ryan Howard looking. Britton got Ben Francisco to ground out to end the third.

Britton pitched around a leadoff bunt in the fourth and threw 33 pitches, 18 for strikes.
On the offensive side, Fox is 2-for-2 with a run scored. A reminder that you can follow the game live with Gameday on Orioles.com.
