Os pregame tidbits

*Orioles manager Buck Showalter just arrived to the field, he hung back at Ed Smith Stadium’s complex to watch Justin Duchscherer throw off flat ground.  Showalter said everything went well and assuming he feels good tomorrow the next step would be to get Duchscherer up on a mound later this week.

*Derrek Lee could get into a game as soon as this weekend as the first baseman continues to progress nicely from offseason thumb surgery. Showalter said he’ll have a report back on Lee, who is back in Sarasota taking BP, this afternoon. It’s doubtful Lee will play in tomorrow’s game.

*Right-handed bullpen hopeful Mitch Atkins, who has been sidelined by an oblique issue, is back to throwing on flat ground.

*Prospect Josh Bell, who made an unassisted putout at first base late in Monday’s game, will continue to work with infield coach Willie Randolph and Showalter said he could “potentially”  see some more time at first this spring.
