Adams off to hot AFL start
Orioles prospect Ryan Adams took home Arizona Fall League Co-Player of the Week honors for the period that concluded Saturday. He went 6-for-12 with a homer and seven RBIs for Scottsdale.
Adams is coming off his best season as a pro. Playing for Double-A Bowie, he set career highs with 15 homers, 68 RBIs and 158 hits. The 23-year-old infielder shared the Eastern League lead with 43 doubles and was named a Postseason All-Star.
In five Minor League seasons, Adams owns a .287 batting average with 34 home runs and 184 RBIs. He was the Orioles’ second-round (58th overall) selection in the 2006 Draft.
