Red Sox/Orioles lineups and pregame tidbits

Greetings from Boston’s Fenway Park, where I enjoyed a lovely flight on Jet Blue this morning. It had all the makings of a great flight: it was on time, it had Saved By the Bell on Direct TV in-flight and they gave out cookies. Yes, it doesn’t take much to make a traveling beat writer happy…

*Jim Johnson will throw off a mound tomorrow in Sarasota. Johnson was shut down for a few days with right elbow discomfort and the hope is he will be able to get back on track in his rehab and avoid season-ending Tommy John surgery.
*Michael Gonzalez is expected to continue his rehab in Double-A Bowie tonight. Interim manager Juan Samuel said the organization is more concerned about his location and slider than fastball velocity at this point. He has outings scheduled for Friday, Sunday and Tuesday in Bowie.
*Felix Pie was dealing with tightness in his legs but finished last night’s game at Bowie and is expected to play again tonight in the outfield.
*FYI, because the rotation gets changed so much I barely remember- here are the pitching match ups for Saturday and Sunday.
