On last night….
I got a few emails about my game story making it seem like the O’s were going to lose if Chase Headley got an RBI. And, yes, I know it would have only tied the game. But given the way the Orioles have played in the 9th inning, even interim manager Juan Samuel admitted he was thinking, “here we go again…”
“We saw the situation [Friday] night it was basically almost the same hitters,” Samuel said. “So, when [Alfredo} Simon walked that guy you always want to come out of the bullpen throwing strikes. We walked that guy and so I was like oh I hope we don’t have the same outcome as we did last night. But he made some good pitches there when he needed to to get himself out of that mess.”
