Os/Padres Lineup and pregame tidbits

Welcome to Petco Park, which is my new favorite place in Major League Baseball.
Some injury updates for you as 23-year-old Brian Matusz -Univeristy of San Diego alum – takes the hill in a place he frequented as a college student.

*Mike Gonzalez will throw a simulated game in Sarasota, Fla. on Saturday and after that he said he will speak with president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail about going on a rehab assignment.

*Felix Pie continues to progress, taking live batting practice off the Minor League coaches in Sarasota, and interim manager Juan Samuel said he’s also real close to a rehab assignment and rejoining the team.

*Saturday’s starter, which will be the first time the Orioles need a fifth starter, is looking like it will be Brad Bergesen if he can get his mechanics right.  Bergesen started at Norfolk last night and will throw again Monday, which would put him in line to start against the Nationals. If he continues to struggle, it will be Chris Tillman, who was moved out of the rotation following Monday’s loss at San Francisco. Tillman is available out of the bullpen if needed tonight.
