Orioles/M's series finale

The Orioles will try to “dethrone the king”, as manager Dave Trembley so aptly put it, in Thursday’s series finale against King Felix. Kevin Millwood is still searching for his first win, and honestly, is there a pitcher who deserves a “W” more? Below, some pregame tidbits…

*There has been no thought to replacing David Hernandez in the rotation, according to Trembley.  The big thing with Hernandez is to get him to avoid that one inning that always proves to be his downfall.

*Trembley acknowledged Nolan Reimold’s assignment back to Triple-A Norfolk might have caused some of the underperforming Orioles to breathe a collective sigh of relief.  Will it help them start to hit? We’ll see.  As for any more moves, the O’s continue to remain steadfast that they will make whatever changes help improve the club. Still, I think their best shot has to be to get guys like Adam Jones, Luke Scott, Garrett Atkins and Reimold hot again.

*Having a speed factor in Corey Patterson is a welcome change for an Orioles squad struggling to make do without Brian Roberts. Patterson’s ability to steal bases should help the double play that the Orioles constantly find themselves on the wrong end of as well.

*Jim Johnson saw Dr. James Andrews this morning. He was actually at his appointment when I touched base with him. I should have more on that later.
