Os/Twins Game 1 of the DH

The Orioles will play their first doubleheader this season, sending scheduled Saturday starter Jeremy Guthrie to the hill first, with Friday’s starter Kevin Millwood throwing the nightcap.

*Manager Dave Trembley said he wasn’t sure how this would change the rotation the next time through. The Orioles have Monday off, so either Millwood or Guthrie could throw the finale of the Seattle series on Thursday.

*Adam Jones is out of the leadoff role and will remain out of it for the forseeable future. Jones is married in an 0-for-13 slump and has looked lost at the plate. Trembley said he will go with Julio Lugo, Cesar Izturis or possibly Nolan Reimold instead.

“I gotta try something,” Trembley said. Nick Markakis was also considered but Trembley likes the way Markakis has hit in front of Ty Wigginton and Miguel Tejada.

*Nolan Reimold needs to start hitting. Trembley said he play him as much as possible to give Reimold a chance to hit his way out of a slump that has him entering Saturday’s game with a  .192 average. You get the feeling Reimold could be sent to Triple-A to get straightened out if this goes on much longer
