O's Twins Rained out
MINNEAPOLIS — The Orioles-Twins game was rained out on Friday, with a double-header scheduled for Saturday at 12:10 p.m. CT and 7:10 p.m CT at the brand-new Target Field.
With rain coming down all Friday morning, and a mix of snow and rain in Minneapolis’ forecast for the evening, the official decision was reached at approximately 1 p.m. CT.
The Orioles rotation will send Kevin Millwood and Jeremy Guthrie to the hill, but their exact order won’t be announced until Saturday morning. The Twins were slated to have lefty Francisco Liriano opposite Millwood on Friday, and it wasn’t immediately known if Minnesota will stick with their original rotation plans.
While both the Orioles and the Twins have an offday Monday, the two clubs elected to keep that day free and play a twinbill Saturday. The early forecast for Saturday, according to AccuWeather.com, is partly sunny and in the low 50s.
The Orioles won Thursday’s opener of the four-game set, 2-0. Friday’s rainout is Baltimore’s first this season and the first at the brand-new Target Field.
