Triple-A Norfolk picked up their first win of the season on Friday
night, defeating Durham 6-4. Jake
started for the Tides and tossed five shutout innings, allowing
three hits and walking four while striking out two. Lou Montanez went 3-3 with a triple, two runs scored and a pair of
RBIs. Brandon Snyder also drove in a
pair of runs.Frank Mata picked up the
win in relief. He pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed one run on two hits.

The Tides will continue their series against Durham (the Rays
Triple-A team) tonight at 7:15 with right-hander Alfredo Simon scheduled to make his season debut.
