O's going home

Thursday’s sweep-avoiding
win was big in more ways than one for manager Dave Trembley.

“We need to improve our record
on the road; that’s the bottom line,” Trembley said.  “We need to win more games on the road this
year and we need to win them again teams in our division to show improvement
and to get some respect. We did it [Thursday night.]

The Orioles are 1-2 after
dropping a pair of one-run games to open the three-game set in Tampa Bay. They’re
flying back to Baltimore late tonight to open Camden Yards against the Toronto
Blue Jays.

“It should be exciting,” Trembley said.  “We’re looking forward to getting home [Friday]
It should be really exciting for us and Baltimore and everybody that is a
Baltimore Oriole fan. Our guys are really looking forward to it.”

Perhaps none more so than Brad Bergesen, who will get the
start for the home opener on his first Opening Day roster.
