The Triple-A Norfolk Tides opened
the 2010 season Thursday night at Harbor Park by dropping their opening game to
Durham, 5-3. Chris Tillman made the
start for the Tides and took the loss. He pitched four innings and allowed two
runs on five hits, walking one and striking out five.
Joey Gathright drove in two runs and also stole a base and Rhyne Hughes scored a pair of runs for
the Tides.The Tides will continue their
series against Durham tonight at 7:15 with Jake
Arrieta on the hill.
Double-A Bowie had their opener suspended by rain. Zach Britton made his Double-A debut and pitched 4 1/3
innings before the game was called.
