Here are some of the pregame festivities the
Orioles announced for Friday’s home opener at Camden Yards.
*Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by
former Oriole greats Brooks Robinson and Boog Powell. This year marks the
Orioles’ 40th anniversary of their 1970 World Championship, where Robinson was
the World Series MVP and Powell was AL MVP.
*Opera tenor Richard Troxell will sing the
national anthem for the seventh time on Camden Yards’ Opening Day. Troxell is ,
a Thurmont, Md. Native.
*Want to know about the swag? Fans attending
the sold out game will receive a schedule/car magnet.
*Fans are encouraged to be in their seat at
2:30 p.m. ET, which is when the pregame festivities are expected to start.
*And to touch on one of my favorite parts
about this job: ballpark fare.
ARAMARK has also added the following
new food options for 2010:
- The former Diamond Bistro on the
Club Level is now the All-Star Café, a marketplace-style food court
featuring a rotating menu of cooked to order entrees and an extensive
dessert station - Two stands on the lower concourse
will offer double cheeseburgers and fries - All FanFare locations on the lower
level will serve grilled-to-order hot dogs - Carvel Ice Cream will be served
throughout the ballpark - Increased Gluten-Free and
vegetarian options at Charm City Market, located behind home plate on the
lower concourse - Chicken Bistro Sandwiches
- Kettle Corn stands on the lower
concourse
