Aubrey clears waivers

The Orioles announced Monday afternoon that Michael
Aubrey
has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk.

The infielder was slowed by a groin injury and a
minor non-baseball related procedure and never got a chance to settle in this
spring.

It gives us insurance at Triple-A,” Trembley said of
the addition of Aubrey. “He needs to stay healthy. He needs to stay off
the disabled list. But he was a good player at Triple-A and I’m glad he cleared
(waivers). He’s a nice player to have in the organzation.”

Aubrey
hit .289 (26-90) in 31 games for Baltimore in 2009 after having his contract
selected on August 18. He was acquired by the Orioles from Cleveland on June
24.

That’s great news! I was a huge fan of Aubrey when he came up late last year and I hope we find a way to get his bat back in the lineup sometime this year as well.

Good to hear, hopefully Andino can clear too as both guys are great to have for when the injury bug bites.
