Game 4 Tidbits: Reimold, Turner, Roberts, Lebron

*Noting the warm weather, manager Dave Trembley said the team was “anxious” to get Nolan Reimold started this spring. Projected to be the Orioles starting left fielder –as part of a platoon with Felix Pie — Reimold is scheduled to DH on Saturday, and will get two at-bats before Michael Aubrey takes his place. Saturday will be Aubrey’s debut as well, as he underwent a minor (non-baseball related) procedure that set him back a few days.

*Trembley said Justin Turner will probably be out again Sunday. He got struck in the left foot by a ball hit by Garrett Atkins during batting practice and was a late scratch from Friday night’s game. With Cesar Izturis out with a sore threat, Trembley said the team “might consider” bringing a guy over from Minor League camp. They’ve kicked around a few names are are going to find out who’s as close to being ready to play in a game.  Although Trembley said he think Izturis will be OK sooner than Turner, the Orioles are a little thing on middle infielders.

*There’s no new update on Brian Roberts, with Trembley declining to set any timetable on his Grapefruit League debut. Roberts have been a full-go in practice but has yet to play in a game, as he works his way back from a herniated disc in his lower back.

*Trembley raved about the performance of rookie right-hander Luis Lebron in Saturday’s game.

“I went up to him last night, I said where the hell have you been?,” Trembley said this morning of Lebron. “He’s got a heck of a fastball. That’s explosive, that’s Major League fastball right there. We got to see him again.”

Asked if Lebron had pitched his way into contention Trembley said he didn’t know about that, and that the team would definitely have to see the young righty pitch again.

“He drew our interest,” said Trembley, who had never seen Lebron pitch prior to this spring.

Lebron tossed a scoreless seventh inning, striking out Pittsburgh’s Neil Walker and John Raynor, and retired Delwyn Young on a pop-up.
